Privacy Policy
Last updated July 2026
Thread of Africa ("we", "us") is a bespoke tailoring studio at 5 Leyden St, London E1 7LE. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and your rights over it. We are the data controller for the information you share with us.
What we collect
When you book an appointment, place an order, or send an enquiry, we collect your name, contact details (email, phone), your measurements and fitting notes, order and appointment history, and any details you volunteer about your event. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider — we do not store your full card details.
How we use it
- To design, make, alter and deliver your garments;
- To manage bookings, fittings and orders and to contact you about them;
- To keep your measurements on file (with your consent) so future orders are easier;
- To answer enquiries and provide customer care;
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
Sharing
We share data only with the providers who help us run the studio — our booking and shop platform (Webukit), payment processor and delivery partners — and where the law requires. We never sell your data.
Keeping it
We keep client records for as long as you remain a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal and accounting requirements, then delete or anonymise them.
Your rights
You may ask to access, correct, delete or restrict use of your personal data, or object to its use, at any time. Contact us at info@threadofafrica.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
Our website uses essential cookies to function and the map/booking tools may set cookies to work. We do not use advertising trackers.
